HAWTHORNE NEW JERSEY MATERNITY PHOTOGRAPHER-UGOCHI'S STUDIO MATERNITY SESSION
The Okereke family had a gorgeous maternity session at my studio located in Woodland Park NJ. This beautiful family drove all the way from Hawthorne to have a portrait session with me.
I loved working with Ugochi. Picking outfits from my client closet, meeting her beautiful family and creating some beautiful mommy and me portraits with her daughter before becoming a big sister.
I cannot get over this maternity session in the studio. It was simple and timeless, and will be a session I’ll remember forever. I owe every bit of that to these three. Not only were they total naturals in front of the camera, but their connection and excitement was almost palpable. You can see it in their photos, and it’s a feeling they will be able to remember forever.
More and more clients are choosing studio maternity sessions, and I am not the least bit upset about it. These sessions are often overlooked but some of my absolute favorite to photograph.
If you’re considering a maternity session in the studio, consider these four things.
1 - Timeless
As much as I love the beach and park, there is just something that’s so timeless about the studio. A lot of times clients will struggle with choosing a location. Most think that they HAVE to go to the beach for a beautiful sunset session or the park for beautiful greens. But that’s just not true. The studio may not have those epic backdrops, but it does allow us to make YOU the focus, and when we do that, we’re able to create the most beautiful portraits.
2 - More Intimate
Depending on the time of year, outdoor locations can be really crowded and it can be a big distraction. The studio ensures that it’s just you and there’s a lot of comfort that comes with that for pregnant Mama’s. This is an extremely vulnerable time, and I want you to be comfortable in the space you are in.
The studio also allows for more intimate photos between you and your partner, as well as the dresses or outfits you choose. I love it when Mama’s want to document their beautiful baby bump. I find that a lot of time’s moms are more comfortable doing that in a more private setting, like the studio.
3 - Predictable Weather
Need I say more? The weather here in Fairfield County can be unpredictable and timing the seasons is almost impossible. When you go with a studio session, you’re eliminating those elements and also any stress that could come with needing to make last minute decisions based on weather.
4 - Dress Up
Can’t choose just one dress? That’s fine! In the studio, you’re able to change a lot easier, so wearing more than one dress is certainly an option! Ugochi chose four different dresses, all coordinating with one another, and I absolutely loved the end result!

Livet's Maternity Session - Secaucus NJ Photographer
Livet and her family brought so much love and fun to their maternity session. They are so excited to meet their baby girl. Cairo is so thrilled to be a big brother. He loves so much already, and he hasn’t even met her yet. I can only imagine their bond once Cairo finally meets his little sister.
Livet’s smile is so contagious. You cannot help but smile and be happy looking at these photographs. Nothing is more beautiful than capturing emotion through the lens. Rosanna"s Newborn Session - Woodland Park Newborn Photographer
Finally! I got to meet Rosanna's precious baby boy! We had such an amazing time at her maternity session. Rosanna loved her experience so much she needed to comeback! I was so excited to see Rosanna and her family again for her newborn session. Big sister was the best and so gentle with her baby brother.
Just like ay her maternity session we did her hair and makeup in the studio. Being in a mom is hard. Your newborn session should not be! We do all the work for you. There is no experience needed. I pose you, make your babies smile and loosen dad up to get the perfect shot.
We went with some beautiful fall colors, which came out so beautiful. I am already thinking about what we can do for baby's milestone session. I truly love seeing my families grow.

Arya's Newborn Session - Woodland Park Photographer
Ruchika and her family visited me in my Woodland Park studio. I got to meet her sweet baby girl Arya. Yes, Arya's named was inspired from the very popular tv series Game of Thrones. Do you know anyone named after a show?
I really do love newborn sessions. They are my first love I get to try something different every single time. No newborn session is ever duplicated. During your one-on-one style consult, we go over every single detail, colors, textures, fabrics, everything.
Ruchika was glammed up at the studio by our make-up artist Sabrina. We offer complimentary hair and makeup for all our maternity and newborn session for mom. You just need to show up and be yourself. No worrying necessary.
